Along the island of Krk

Along the island of Krk
KRK
The town of Krk has maintained its appearance and character for more than two thousand years. Over this time frame, life took place within the same walls, squares and streets, next to the same buildings, in churches, chapels and bishop palace. The whole city resembles a monument of life and culture, the persistence and love of stone, sea and land.
The beauty of the alleys is timeless, emblems of dignitaries can still be seen above the door frames and the Angel on top of the unique bell tower still indicates the direction of the wind.

VRBNIK
The city is deemed to be one of the oldest on the island of Krk, and also resembles the cultural pillar of Croatia.
The city is situated almost 50 meters above the sea level, where the greatest representatives of the Croatian script glagoljica and 18 bishops originate from. Artists have been attracted to it all along as they have been imposed with many motives and impressions, as it still happens today with many others.

DOBRINJ
It is impossible to say anything about the municipality of Dobrinj, without mentioning the city itself. Not only has the city always been the administrative, cultural and religious center of the region, but the written history of it starts by mentioning Dobrinj. The deed of the famous Dragoslav from the year 1100 is one of the most important documents of the old Croatian Glagolitic script. It originates from ‘’the saint Vitus church in Dobrinj...’’. The document mentions the municipality and the parish Dobrinj, as well as the parish church of St. Stephen. The central square named ‘’Placa’’, encircled by plane trees, depicts the soul of this small city. Dobrinj is, simply said, a composition of the past and present, a city and museum.
